fyguks! fyguks! fyguks!

Lily was clinically insane last night over the "fyguks". Her eyes were dilated, the blood in her veins was replaced completely with adrenaline and she was running around like she had been fast forwarded. Mostly chasing down Grandpa Brad and dragging him back to the window with the best view of the neighbor's little show. Grandpa was clearly the only worthy person in the house to watch fyguks with her. No one else was allowed in his chair (in an attempt to give him a break). Grandpa was tiiired after a very busy day that ended with a family bbq and...fyguks. But, Grandpa was a trooper. Thank you Grandpa for indulging your littlest Granddaughter.

Lily was on the edge of her seat - when she was on her seat, that is. This was not an easy little person to get a picture of.

With every pop and fizzle she had involuntary jazz hands then wild clapping and very loud cheers.

Meanwhile, little miss Katybird was less than enthusiastic. She was exhausted and just wanted to go to bed. She waited out Lily's excitement with some music and...

Grandma Mary Ann. Who Kate took by the hand and led into the family room away from shrieks of delight for some quiet time with a basket of bedtime books.

Overall, it was a lovely evening with family and good food and sweet memories of our girls' first realization of Independence Day's festivities.
